Once again, Alley Kat Brewery has generously allowed us the use of their equipment to produce wort from one of our recipies. This year will be a Blonde Ale which can be almost endlessly modified at home.

If you've ever thought about getting into homebrewing, this is the easiest and most affordable way to get started. For less than $100, you can get all the equipment you need at Winning Wines Plus Southside and bring home some fresh, top quality wort. You can even use your Guild membership to get 10% off the equipment! Already know how to brew, but have friends/family who keep stealing your beer? This is the best way to get them brewing themselves!

Have questions during brew day? Send an email to to get assistance from the Guild's education director.

    Other stuff

For the love of all that's holy, don't bring yeast into the brewery. For one, you don't want to contaminate the brewery, but also, once yeast gets into the wort, it's technically beer. That means that excise tax needs to be paid on it and unless you want to fill out a bunch of paperwork and pay the tax as well as never being allowed to do this again, just don't bring yeast to the brewery.
