FAQ

When and where is the next meeting?

We meet every first non-holiday Monday of the month from September to May at Alley Kat Brewing Co. Meetings start at 7:30PM, doors open at 7:00PM.

Can I come to one of your meetings?

Yes, as long as you are of legal drinking age in the Province of Alberta. Look at our event calendar to find a meeting you are able to attend.

I don't brew beer, but I am still interested. Is it OK for me to come to a meeting?

Yes! Our members' experience range from novice to "master", including those who have never brewed but have an appreciation for quality beer. Our main purpose is to educate on the topic of beer. Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings - no membership required. If you feel that our guild will further your appreciation for good beer or your brewing skills, we welcome you to join us.

Can I become a member even if I don't live in Edmonton, or am unable to attend meetings?

Anyone of legal drinking age in The Province of Alberta may become a member of the guild. If you can't make it in person to one of our meetings, simply ensure your online account information is up to date and send in your membership dues via mail. We accept cash, cheque or money order payments or PayPal. For details on where to send your dues, please see the Join page.

I don't know if my beer is any good. Should I still bring it to a meeting?

Definitely. The Edmonton Homebrewers' Guild strives to be a "guild" first and foremost: a group of craftsmen/women dedicated to helping each other further the craft of brewing good beer. Please feel free to share any of your beers at our meetings. We try to provide intelligent and constructive feedback to everyone who asks for it; whether it's to tell you how good your beer is, to help figure out what went wrong, how to tweak the recipe, or how to categorize it for competition.

Where can I buy brewing stuff in Edmonton?

Most members agree that Winning Wines Plus in the Lendrum Shopping Centre has the best selection of beer brewing equipment and ingredients in one place. They are very accommodating when it comes to bringing in things they don't have in stock. There are other options, so be sure to come to a meeting and ask someone.

Can you tell your members about my business?

If your business is not one we are already aware of, we recommend attending one of our meetings to spread the word about what you do. If you wish to advertise on our website, or help us out by donating branded merchandise, you can send an email to our corporate liason

Can you put this beer related event I know about in your calendar?

Send an email to webmaster@ehg.ca including all the details about the event. If it is something our members would find interesting, we will add it to our calendar.
